Tariq reads the news, or at least the headlines. Crackdowns, floods, a price spike somewhere: he sees it, he sends it, he moves on. He is right 65% of the time about the things a headline can be right about. He is mid twenties, curly hair, headphones round his neck, forwarding you a link with one hand while looking at something more interesting with the other. He has not read it. He will not. Sometimes it is worth opening anyway. Every text ends with a hedge, grain of salt or don't quote me, and that is a habit, not a clue; he says it about the true ones too.
